Peugeot’s push into the SUV market hasn’t come at the expense of the development of a new version of its flagship family hatch, the 508.

As with the 3008 and 5008, the latest 508 is based on the manufacturer’s EMP2 platform, which in turn means it will eventually be available with a plug-in hybrid powertrain.

For the car’s launch in the autumn, however, Peugeot will stick with a line-up of conventional engines with power outputs ranging from 128bhp to 222bhp. The interior, meanwhile, features the latest iteration of the brand’s i-Cockpit design, and it has a digital instrument panel and ‘piano-key’ switches below the central touchscreen to help it stand out from rivals.Read more at www.oktilli.com
